Tell the government what you think of its Planning White Paper
Transport for New Homes fears that the reforms will lead to even more car-based sprawl
The Government has launched proposals to reform the planning system in England – but its ‘Planning for the Future’ White Paper barely mentions transport.
We are concerned that the proposals will lead to much more car-dependent housing being built. The location of new housing developments and how they are designed dictates how people travel to them and around in them. Getting this wrong is a recipe for increased traffic congestion and pollution, and runs against the need to tackle climate change and isolated living.
If you agree that new developments should be well served by public transport, cycling and walking and have local services and facilities built in, please respond to the ‘Planning for the Future’ White Paper. Here are two ways to respond:
- You can respond quickly and easily using the form below.
- If you have more time, you can respond in more detail via the government’s website. We’ve written a guide with some suggestions for things to include.
